Founded in 1128, Heikenji Temple, also known as Kawasaki Daishi, is one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Japan’s Kanto Plain and a must-see attraction in Kawasaki City. The temple is known nationwide for “Yakuyoke” (warding off evil). On New Year’s Day, masses flock to the temple looking for good luck in the year. On the way to the temple, pick up some tasty dango dumplings or check out souvenir shops selling colorful daruma dolls. With the new year just around corner, ward off your bad luck by visiting this impressive power spot!
