Flea market, beer fest highlight fun weekend coming up near MCAS Iwakuni

Grab your ecobags and head to Shunan City for a day at the flea market on Sept. 24.

Check out all the good deals, food and entertainment at the JR Tokuyama Station square, only an hour away from MCAS Iwakuni.

The Shunan Flea Market promises plenty of antiques, imported goods, clothing, records, books and more from over 40 vendors. Sample tasty pizza, baked goods and other good eats at the event in Shunan City. There were also be live musical performances to serenade you as you peruse the booths.

This biannual market draws a big crowd and this particular event assembles under the theme of “Spin out a story of life,” according to the event organizers.

Still looking for fun? After the market, head to Aozora Park, about a 7-minute walk from the station to enjoy the Tokuyama Ekimae Beer Festival running on both Sept. 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The fest will have adult beverages and plenty of great food to enjoy.

DJ Hasunoyu Crew will provide trip-hop beats to accompany a fun day of shopping and great weather. Don’t miss it!
