Fall fest near Mt. Fuji offers food, culture, colors
If you still haven’t made it out to see the fall foliage in its full glory heading to the Fuji Five Lakes in Yamanashi Pref. might be a great option you and your entire group will enjoy.
Fuji Kawaguchiko Town is hosting its annual Momiji Matsuri, an autumn foliage festival, from now until Nov. 23.
Momiji Kairo, or autumn foliage promenade, is illuminated from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night during the period allowing for great night views of Mt. Fuji and the colors of the season.
Enjoy dozens of food and game booths selling local produce and other products while live entertainment on stages set the celebratory mood.
And, from Kawaguchiko Station, hop on a bus that will take you to all the fall leave hot spots around Kawaguchi, Saiko, Shojiko and Motosuko Lakes. Three buses are available daily with departures at 9:30 a.m., 12:40 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. through Nov. 23.
Don’t miss the chance to see the unique autumn view that the surrounding areas of Mt.Fuji have to offer.
