Doraemon fans in Japan should head to Roppongi Hills in Tokyo to bask in the invasion of the beloved cat-robot.
Dozens of Doraemon figures stand at attention now through Aug. 23 in the Roppongi Hills 66 Plaza for TV Asahi’s Summer Fes. The display is in celebration of Doraemon’s birthday on Sept. 3 and in anticipation of the Doraemon special scheduled to air sometime that same month.
Other activities and photo spots are available throughout Roppongi Hills and at the adjacent TV Asahi building through the Summer Fes period.
The Doraemon cartoon first aired on TV Asahi back in 1979 and the bright blue, white and red main character became an instant hit leading the cartoon to become the longest TV anime series.
Celebrate the Doraemon at Roppongi Hills this summer!
