Did you know?: Prefectures with many islands
According to the Japan Coast Guard, Okinawa has 363 islands whose outer perimeters are 0.1km or longer. This is the 5th largest number among all the prefectures in Japan. Nagasaki, the host prefecture of Sasebo Naval Base, has 971, which is the most in the country.
