If you’re a fan of clowns, acrobatics and death-defying stunts, then head over to Sasebo City’s Nakiri Ground (Central Park) in Miyaji Town because the Osaka-based “Happy Dream Circus” will be performing there under the big top until Jan. 19.

“You rarely see a circus in Sasebo,” said Tomoko Tanaka, a Sasebo District Office staffer of Stars and Stripes. “This is a great chance to check out authentic circus performances.”

The 90-minute show is made up of flying trapeze, bike and car stunts, juggling, Fire Man, Wheel of Death and much more.

“The performances are magnificent,” Tanaka said, explaining that the circus tent is small and only accommodates 200-300 spectators per seating. “You are really close to the performers and you can see everything … it’s amazing.”

Tanaka said the car and motorcycle stunts are a highlight of the show, as well as the circus clowns who interact with the audience.

If you are in Sasebo, don’t miss this rare chance and enjoy the circus with your family and friends!
