Become a maestro at Shichinohe-Towada Station public piano near Misawa

Ever dreamt of taking the stage and entertaining the masses with your piano skills?

Now is your chance to hold an impromptu performance at the JR Shichinohe-Towada Station, a short 40-minute drive from Misawa Air Base. Try it out for yourself or take your kids for a fun practice in a public place.

The piano was installed in the station in June, 2019 after a local suggested the idea to use a surplus piano left over from a recent school consolidation. After some searching, a 27-year-old piano from a closed middle school was chosen to grace the passageway to the station.

No matter your skill level, the piano is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Stop by next time you find yourself at JR Shichinohe-Towada Station and maybe you’ll catch some great tunes or even put on a show yourself!
