Air Busan will begin operating seasonal charter flights between Busan and Kagoshima, Japan, from October 25.
The airline will operate the route three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Flights will depart Gimhae International Airport at 3:55 p.m. and arrive in Kagoshima at 5:15 p.m., with a flight time of about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Return flights will leave Kagoshima Airport at 6:35 p.m. and arrive in Busan at 7:55 p.m.
Kagoshima, located in southern Kyushu, is known for the active Sakurajima volcano and its black sand hot springs. The region also provides access to Yakushima, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site associated with the inspiration for the animated film Princess Mononoke, as well as golf and other winter tourism activities.
Air Busan has been expanding its network to smaller Japanese cities this year.
It began flying to Shizuoka and Takamatsu in March and has also operated seasonal charter services to destinations including Toyama and Nagasaki.
From January through August, the airline’s number of flights from Busan to Japan increased about 10% compared with the same period last year, while passenger numbers rose approximately 12%.
