Comm Flyaway kit ensures Yokota readiness during SRI

374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

Staff Sgt. Preston Kaolelopono, 374th Communications Squadron radio frequency transmissions supervisor, uses a satellite phone to contact an operator after setting up the Communications Fly-away Kit (CFK) during the Samurai Readiness Inspection at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Oct. 20, 2021. Radio frequency transmission systems technicians usually install and maintain radio frequency communications systems at their installation. This includes the responsibility of deploying, sustaining, troubleshooting and repairing a vast variety of communications devices to ensure our ability to communicate.
