It’s time for a new animal adventure in the metropolis of Zootopia and the Disney animated movie’s sequel is being celebrated with fun café pop-ups around Japan.
Join beloved detective duo, Judy Hopps, a rabbit, and Nick Wilde, a fox, and other animal characters for themed food and drinks at Oh My Café’s Zootopia 2 pop-ups at two Tokyo locations in Omotesando and Ikebukuro and in Nagoya. Late last year, the café had a pop-up in Osaka that ended Dec. 4.
Whether you are a Disney lover or just looking for a fun activity to do while staying in Japan, you will not be disappointed with a visit to this tasty café.
I visited the Omotesando store and reserved a slot through the Oh My Café website for 770 yen (about $5) per person. Each time slot is in 45-minute increments starting at 11:15 a.m. through 6:45 p.m.
The café is immersive with themed décor throughout, even down to the music playing while enjoying a nice meal.
Once seated, the staff explained that each guest is required to order at least one food item. That should not be an issue, as the menu has many options, including a Judy Hops carrot steak, Nick Wilde beet stew and Burning Animals gratin. The theme continues with the drink menu, where you can enjoy a special Pawbert Matcha Latte, Judy’s Carrot Soda or Nibbles Hot Cocoa. Of special note, drinks are served in a reusable Zootopia 2 souvenir cup.
No matter what you choose, each food item comes with a mini plastic folder blind bag, and each drink comes with a coaster blind bag. Both are free and included for each person in your party.
You can also get some neat merchandise at the entrance. Patrons can peruse what is available on the menu; isn’t that perfect? While eating, you can decide if there will be any additional purchases. Some things were sold out during my visit, but the selection available still included many items like collectable pins, keychains and acrylic stands!
Zootopia 2 is out in theaters in Japan now, but the café will only be around for a limited time, so don’t miss it!
