Sesame Street donuts hit the streets of Japan

Sesame Street donuts hit the streets of Japan
Starting Feb. 20, you can revisit your childhood with Sesame Street-themed donuts at Krispy Kreme locations across Japan.
“Big Bird pudding”, “Elmo custard” and “Cookie & Cookie Monster” make up the seasonal offerings that run from Feb. 20 through mid-April. The master donut-maker skips no steps in making each donut look as cute as your favorite characters look on the small screen. The Cookie Monster donut even features a mini chocolate chip cookie in the center which is supposed to be his mouth. Me like cookie.
No word yet if they share the same fate of competitor Mister Donut’s Pokémon run last year, which had to be paused to retrain employees after reports and photos surfaced on Twitter of some frightening Pikachu doughnuts.
Go check them out for yourself and if you get a weird-looking Big Bird doughnut, send the pics our way.
Be warned, as with all Krispy Kreme Japan’s offerings, this visit down memory lane isn’t cheap – a three-set box of the character donuts runs for 720 yen (about $7), a six-donut set for 1,130 yen (about $10.50) or a dozen for a whopping 1,800 yen.
