MISAWA AB – As Americans embrace New Year’s resolutions focused on wellness, Misawa Exchange is making healthy eating more accessible on-base.

As part of its BE FIT 360 program, dedicated to holistic wellness, the Misawa offers fresh, choices at all restaurants and Express.

“The Exchange is fully committed to supporting nutrition and wellness for the military community, keeping the Nation’s Total Force ready and resilient,” Misawa Exchange General Manager Michickia Carter said. “We are dedicated to ensuring our Airmen have access to better-for-you meals and snacks to fuel them throughout the day.”

Better-for-you options at Misawa Exchange restaurants include:

  • Charley’s Philly Steaks offers items with 300 calories or fewer including grilled chicken, steak and garden salads, as well as a selection of small cheesesteaks with fewer than 500 calories.

  • Subway offers more than a dozen sandwiches with 350 calories or fewer including turkey breast, oven-roasted chicken, Veggie Delight and Black Forest ham.

  • There are over 120 low-calorie items at Einstein Bros. Bagels, all under 500 calories. This includes hot sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups and yogurt parfait.

Diners can also find healthy snacks at the Express with options like fresh fruit, trail mix, nuts and yogurt.

“From grab-and-go snacks to meals for the family, the Exchange is all in to support nutrition and wellness goals,” Michickia Carter said. “The Exchange is honored to make healthy eating a part of everyday life on and off duty.”
