German beer, food and culture enthusiasts at Yokosuka, rejoice!
Craft beer event “Yokosuka Oktoberfest 2026 in Spring” at Verny Park is running now through April 26.
This annual event in Yokosuka is known as a beer festival where you can enjoy German craft beers. Enjoy a Bavarian atmosphere with lots of adult beverages and foods to try at the many booths at the outdoor venue. Vendors are serving up German beer, sausages, pastries and more. Live entertainment by German folk musicians, an Alpin music group and a pop band, along with magic show and Juggling performance will also keep the event lively on stage throughout the festival.

The event site, Verny Park, next door to Yokosuka Naval Base, is a popular place to see both U.S. and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ships. The park is named after a French engineer who founded Japan’s first Western-style shipyard in 1871. The spacious park is home to various trees and flowers (roses are especially famous!), and at dusk, the area is illuminated with beautiful lights perfect for a romantic stroll along the bay.
Admission to the event is free, but you need to buy drinks and food at each booth. German craft beers are sold for about 1,300 yen (300 ml) or 1,700 yen (500 ml) ($9 – 12).
This year, “Happy Hour Coupon” for a glass of craft beer (300 ml) and a snack (normally worth 2,000 yen) will be sold for 1,100 yen ($7) Monday through Friday from 3 – 5 p.m. This could be a great starter to enjoy the Yokosuka beer event.
