The Beer Fes in Nagaoka to be held Sep. 4-6: Two days of beer and food at Niigata’s Aore Nagaoka

Billed as the largest craft beer event on the Sea of Japan coastline, the Beer Fes in Nagaoka is set to include a wide variety of craft breweries not just from Niigata Prefecture but from all corners of the country. The full lineup of breweries present at the two-day affair can be found on the official event website, but some names include Shiga Kogen Beer, Echigo Beer, and Heisei Brewing.

Along with all the beer on offer, there will be a variety of food vendors selling everything from tacos and crepes to karaage (fried chicken) and Thai cuisine.

There is no admission fee to enjoy the atmosphere of the event, but bring yen if you plan on purchasing food or drinks.

Getting there

Aore Nagaoka is located just three minutes on foot from Nagaoka Station, which is served by the Joetsu Shinkansen line, the JR Joetsu local line, and the Shinetsu main line. For those who are driving, the venue is around 15 minutes from the Nagaoka IC on the Kanetsu Expressway.
