Yokosuka Bilingual School is holding a middle school information session called “YBS Middle School OPEN” for families with children in upper elementary and middle school grades (Grades 6, 7, 8). HOUSE 2026 will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026. This event is an information session for families considering diverse career paths during the upper elementary school to junior high school years, when career options are expanding. We will explain in detail the achievements of the middle school’s first-year program, which opened in September 2025, as well as the newly established affiliated school with Kanagawa Dental University.

Background: Diversifying career options and learning at middle schools

Yokosuka, where YBS is located, boasts a U.S. military base and is home to about 20,000 foreigners, creating a unique multinational environment. The generation from upper elementary to middle school faces a variety of career options, including not only general domestic advancement but also overseas university entrance exams, AO entrance exams for domestic universities, and science and engineering routes, making this a crucial period for preparation. One year after the middle school opened in September 2025, YBS is fostering children’s ability to proactively choose their future paths through a Cambridge-accredited, world-class curriculum and academic language education (English and Japanese).

About the LaLaLand Group
