TELL to provide the Lifeline Support Worker training

So far, 2020 has been tough on so many fronts, and the Lifeline has been a vital resource for many people in helping to manage some of these stresses. If you are thinking about how you want to use your time in the rest of 2020, and you think you would like to be there to support others, maybe the Lifeline Support Worker training is the opportunity you are looking for.

The fall course begins with a 10 week intensive online training program (September 27th - December 6th), combining presentations, reading, role playing and seminars to teach the active listening skills and how to use them effectively on both the phone and chat platforms. You would also undertake an apprenticeship which would involve supervised shifts on the Lifeline itself.

The training is a good way to develop new skills that can be useful in both personal and professional settings; connect with a new community; and give back to other English speakers in Japan.
