YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Don’t you want to learn more about Japan?
By learning about Japanese culture, customs, manners and a few words, you will be able to enrich your life in Japan.
There are various on‐base opportunities to study Japan.
Japanese Customs & Courtesies Class (free)
Occurrence: 1 day, Monthly, from 1:30 p.m.‐ 3 p.m.

This course covers sightseeing spots, basic table manners, public transportation, manners in public
place, manners when visiting local homes, the basic concept of Japanese, how to write your name in Japanese, and so on.
Survival Japanese Course (free)
Occurrence: Tuesdays from: 11 a.m. ‐12 p.m. (5 Sessions throughout the year)
Duration: 1hour for 6 Weeks

This one hour developmental six‐week course covers a multitude of useful words and expressions to use at local restaurants, stores, train stations and in other various locations.
Children’s Japanese Story Time (free)
Occurrence: Second and fourth Mondays of the month from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
*If Monday is either U.S. or Japanese Holiday, they don’t held.

This is one you can enjoy with your kids while learning Japanese culture and small words.
Story time ranges from read‐alouds to songs and fingerplays to origami. (folding paper)
The program activities are arranged based on the age of the children taking part.
Japanese Cooking Class (free)
Occurrence: 1 day, Monthly, from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Japanese Language Class (paid lesson)
Duration: 10 Weeks *Next class will start on May 5th
Occurrence: Introduction to Conversational Japanese: Wednesday from: 5:20 p.m. ‐ 6:20 p.m.
Introduction to reading and writing Japanese: Wednesday from: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
