5th grade students in Mrs. Deliazard and Mrs. Sosa's classes at Shirley Lanham Elementary School completed a U.S. Constitution Escape Room to celebrate Constitution Day, also connecting to their Unit 1 Topic: The U.S. Constitution Then and Now. Students walked around 4 rooms breaking codes. The codes included ciphers, Morse code, cryptograms, and a final 4 digit code based on their decoders/clues. In addition to learning and reinforcing subject matter, the escape room encouraged teamwork and critical thinking.
