50th Graduate
50th Graduate
As the 50th,
a senior of Yokota High School
Graduation came much like a surprise party
to celebrate my progress here, how far I had come
and many students who came with, and before me
When in the 9th
I would sigh and roll my eyes
the four years ahead seemed so far
piles of work, of lessons, of understanding myself
could not imagine it, could not fathom it would be over
Now in the 12th
the days blend, time passes without notice
May 25th, a date circled in red, in advance, still surprises me
the party was planned, yet graduation had still come so fast to me
with little time to process, there’s a diploma in hand
