Yokota Spring Asian Bazaar back on from March 20-21

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan – The Yokota Spouse’s Club (YSC) will host their annual spring bazaar at the Taiyo Community Center on March 20-21. Local and regional vendors in Japan and across the Pacific have the opportunity to showcase Japanese and Korean antiques, Asian furniture, jewelry, art, rugs, prints, novelties, ceramics, and much more to the community – all under one roof! The bazaar is open to all SOFA-sponsored personnel and their families.

All of the YSC’s proceeds from bazaar sales are donated directly back to the Yokota community. The YSC historically contributes over $30,000 annually to scholarships and community organizations across the installation regardless of branch, rank, and military or civilian status.

This year’s event will offer many vendors as well as home-based businesses operating on Yokota.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Delivery services will be available to transport large furniture purchases. Additionally, volunteer translators will be on hand to assist with sales transactions, and the like. For payments, US dollars or credit cards will be accepted.

We will be following COVID guidelines, so please follow the signage and instructions that will be posted around the Taiyo. Shoppers will be required to wear masks and follow social distancing regulations. We will have volunteers stationed at the entrance, exit and in the bazaar to make sure people are complying with the regulations.

The bazaar is a tremendous community effort and requires the support of base agencies as well as hundreds of volunteers over months of planning. Additional volunteers are needed for the event to assist with vendor transportation, vendor lounge donations, etc. Volunteers are eligible for early shopping privileges as well as door prizes.

For more information about the bazaar, to include the opportunity for prize drawings, follow the Facebook page @YokotaSpousesClubAsianBazaar for periodic updates.

The purpose of the YSC is to promote a spirit of unity through the provision of social, cultural, and welfare activities among its members. The club is comprised of military officer, enlisted and civilian spouses.
