In mid-summer, we have a tradition to send our friends a postcard, called shochu mimai, or summer greeting card.

In times like these, exchanging greetings and keeping in touch is even more important. Why not send one to your friends? If you don't have time to write a postcard, then, give them a call instead.

So, today's Japanese phrase is the traditional summer greeting.

"Shochu omimai moshiagemasu" = I wish you a happy summer.
("shochu" = mid-summer, "omimai moshiagemasu" = let me express my sincere greetings)

Write or greet your friend with this phrase and I’m sure they will appreciate the well wishes.

Stay safe and stay cool... and I wish you a happy summer!
