A cold front made its way through mainland Japan over the past 24 hours, bringing heavy snow to the Kanto Plain.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the snow in the Kanto Plain is expected to continue until late Thursday evening.

The agency has issued a heavy snowfall warning for Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and southern part of Saitama (as of 2 p.m.) and warned of possible disruptions to traffic because of icy roads.

According to the agency, snow is expected to pile about 4 inches in the southern part (Kanagawa and Chiba Prefectures) and highlands throughout the Kanto Plain.

This video and photo were taken near Yokosuka Naval Base Thursday afternoon. It continues to snow in my hometown. It is freezing!

Yes, folks, we are in the midst of winter. Stay safe and warm!
