USS John S. McCain holds Change of Command
YOKOSUKA, Japan (NNS) – Cmdr. Micah Murphy relieved Cmdr. Ed Angelinas as the commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) during a change of command ceremony, Dec. 15.
Angelinas has served as McCain’s acting Commanding Officer since October 2017 and has orders to the Navy Personnel Command for his next tour.
John S. McCain is in port Yokosuka undergoing repairs by U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility-Japan Regional Maintenance Center in Yokosuka before returning to service in U.S. 7th Fleet.
McCain is forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia Pacific.
