USAG Japan commander, spouse, cut bamboo for giant kites

Col. Thomas Matelski, center, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Japan, and his wife Amy place down a bamboo tree at Camp Zama, Japan, Nov. 20. The Matelskis helped 16 members of the Sagamihara Giant Kite Preservation Association, Katsusaka Area, cut bamboo on Camp Zama so the association can make frames for traditional giant kites.
