The American Forces Network (AFN) is pleased to announce that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will make its return to the AFN air waves with  UFC 243 live Sunday, Oct. 6.

“It took a lot of work, and we couldn’t be more pleased to bring UFC back to our deserving audience overseas and at sea,” said Lt. Col. Catina M. Barnes, Director, AFN Broadcast Center. “It truly was a team effort, and well done to all who were involved,” she added.

AFN resumed access and broadcast rights by navigating new contracts and overcoming technical issues with the content provider.

“ESPN and UFC have always been a huge supporter of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and all those protecting our nation overseas, they worked tirelessly with us on this,” said the AFN Sports personalities, “Willie and Jay.”

The UFC match will feature two hours of preliminary action, leading up to the main event. Sunday, UFC 243 will feature middleweight fighters Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya.

Air times are slated for 4 a.m. in Europe and 11 a.m. in the Pacific on AFN|sports 2. Encore broadcasts will air the following Monday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. in Europe and 11 p.m. in the Pacific on AFN|sports 2.
