7:05 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, Japan time: What a strange forecast track. Tropical Storm Krovanh has passed about 80 miles east of Okinawa the first time. Joint Typhoon Warning Center’s latest forecast track shows Krovanh making a sharp turn south and passing Okinawa again, this time to its southwest, early Sunday morning, as a tropical storm. Continue to expect gusty winds and heavy on-and-off showers over the weekend.
