Let’s make a wish upon a shooting star!

It’s time again for the Perseids meteor shower which will hit its peak at 10 p.m. on Aug. 12.

The annual show of falling stars named after the constellation Perseus runs between Aug. 9 and Aug. 14. On the peak night, you’ll be able to catch up to 60 meteors per hour.

According to NASA, the best time to catch the show is between 2 a.m. and dawn local time on the morning of Aug. 13. If waking up that early is a bit much, don’t worry, you’ll still see some on the evening of Aug. 12.

NASA also recommends taking a little time to let your eyes become adjusted to the dark for 30 minutes prior, which will then allow you to see meteors more clearly. If you miss the live show, you can watch the live stream during or after on NASA’s Meteor Watch Facebook page here.

Let’s keep an eye out in the night sky and make a wish upon a shooting star! And, if you get any good pics, don’t forget to share them with us on Facebook!
