Firefighters with the Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Fire and Emergency Services respond to a simulated structure fire during Exercise Active Shield at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, Nov. 15, 2022. Active Shield is an annual training exercise that is critical to the air station’s ability to maintain mission readiness and enhance bilateral collaboration in order to sustain military operations in support of the U.S.-Japan Alliance.
