Chaplain Corps 245th Birthday on CFAS

SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 24, 2020) – Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo Chaplains Lt. Cmdr. Phillip D. Carson and Lt. Bradley T. Lawrence pose for a photo to celebrate the upcoming 245th U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps birthday onboard CFAS Nov. 24, 2020. For the past 221 years, Navy chaplains of all faiths have served across the world to promote the free exercise of religion, provide counseling and care to Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Merchant Mariners in times of need, and advise commanders on ethical dilemmas.
