Army personnel chief visits Camp Zama

CAMP ZAMA, Japan -- Lieutenant Gen. Thomas C. Seamands, Army deputy chief of staff personnel, visited here Sept. 19 and met with Soldiers in the Camp Zama community.

Seamands is visiting Japan and South Korea on this trip to the Far East.

Here he talked with Soldiers and civilians during a town hall meeting about where the Army is going in the future, new programs being undertaken, and how the Army is working toward the required end strength of over a million active duty, national guard and reserve.

The team accompanying the general also included Command Sgt. Maj. Derek D. Johnson, personnel's sergeant major, who, along with Seamands, also answered questions from the audience dealing with such topics as performance reports, promotions and talent management.
