In February 2012, Petty Officer Nee arrived onboard USS George Washington homeported in Yokosuka, Japan as a Personnel Specialist. During his time, he was a customer service and separations/retirement clerk for the Personnel Office. After a year of service, he was hand selected to join the CVN-73 Staff Judge Advocate’s Office as a Non-Judicial punishment and Administrative Separations coordinator prior to being selected for conversion to Legalman in 2014. 
LN1 Nee graduated from Legalman Accession with honors and upon completion of the Legalman Paralegal Education Program at Naval Justice School, reported to Region Legal Service Office (RLSO), Yokosuka, Japan. Since reporting onboard he has served as court reporter for the Navy Marine Corps Trial Judiciary, Western Pacific Judiciary Circuit, and Leading Petty Officer for Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka, Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, the RLSO Trial Department, and currently is the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces/Navy Region Japan, Force Paralegal.
As the Force Paralegal, LN1 Nee develops and provides training on SJA matters for the SJAs, and LNs falling under CNFJ/CNRJ. He was most recently selected as RLSO Japan’s 2017 Sailor of the Year, and as a finalist for Naval Legal Service Command’s 2017 Sailor of the Year. LN1 Nee is active with RLSO Japan, CNFJ/CNRJ and his community as a member of the RLSO Japan Enlisted Association, CNFJ/CNRJ First Class Petty Officer Association; Vice President, Japanese Community Legal Association; Treasurer, CPO 365, CFAY Youth Sports, and Drug Education for Youth.
LN1 Nee’s awards include the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy “E” (two awards), Good Conduct Medal (two awards), National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
