Currently as a Personnel Staff, Chief Master Sergeant Makoto Maeda oversees the transfer adjustments and new member placement of over 2000 service members. CMSgt Maeda’s Leadership enables Squadron Commands to operate more efficiently and better support the needs and demands of all Operations Support Wing. 
 
For the last 10 years, CMSgt Maeda has served as volunteer leadership for the Tokyo Marathon; overseeing 600 leaders whom manage over 10,000 volunteers of the event. His volunteer activities reach beyond the Tokyo Marathon, he has also supported U.S.-Japan Friendship sporting events on Yokota Air Base, to include the Special Olympics, a long-distance relay road race and the Frostbite Race for 19 consecutive years. 
 
In the future, CMSgt Maeda plans to continue his volunteer activities and he has been selected to participate in the 2019 Rugby World Cup as a volunteer. CMSgt Maeda looks forward to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the opportunity to share his volunteerism skills with the next generation of service members so that they may also gain accomplishment and pride in dedicating their time to bettering the local community.
