Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The 35th Security Forces Squadron chose Senior Airman Brandon J. Beckford, a security and response team leader, to be their Wild Weasel of the Week.

What is your daily mission?
To maintain order and stability among base populous and provide security to the Air Force and its assets.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the versatility of my job and the ability to do multiple job positions daily, like law enforcement, flightline security, or alarm monitor duties.

Why did you choose to serve in the Air Force?
I chose to serve in the Air Force to broaden my opportunities. My biggest fear was to be left behind by my peers and my means of socially progressing in life started with the Air Force.

What is your favorite thing about living in Japan?
The culture and cuisine. I often forget I'm living in Japan until I step off base. It still blows my mind that I have this opportunity.

How long have you been stationed at Misawa?
1 year

How long have you been in the Air Force?
3 years

What goals do you want to meet while at Misawa?
My goals are to obtain my Community College of the Air Force degree, as well as learn the Japanese language.

What goals do you want to meet during your Air Force career?
Learn as much as I can about different cultures and beliefs. I want to travel as much as I can across Asia and Europe before returning to the U.S., then possibly make the next rank and complete as many classes possible before my enlistment ends.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida
