The 35th Civil Engineer Squadron chose Senior Airman Andres Diaz Medina, an electrical systems technician, to be their Wild Weasel of the Week.

What is your daily mission?
To support and maintain all electrical systems on base, from fire alarms to airfield lighting.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy how there is lot of hands on work that we do all over base.

Why did you choose to serve in the Air Force?
I saw how well my big brother was doing in the Air Force, so I decided to follow his footsteps.

What is your favorite thing about living in Japan?
My favorite thing about Japan is the island itself. This place has a little bit of everything including snowboarding, surfing, hiking and fishing.

Who has been your best mentor and what have they taught you?
Tech. Sgt. Jose Sanchez has been a great supervisor and a great mentor since day one. He has been teaching me how to become a better electrician, leader and Airman.  

How long have you been stationed at Misawa?
1.5  years

How long have you been in the Air Force?
3 years

What goals do you want to meet while at Misawa?
Finish my bachelor's degree and commission.

What goals do you want to meet during your Air Force career?
I want to become an expert in my career field and complete a PhD in Medicine.

Where's your hometown?
Patillas, Puerto Rico
