SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 29, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuel) 1st Class Junnel Carandang, from Dedeo, Guam, addresses Sailors during a National American Indian and Native Alaskan Heritage Month celebration on the mess decks of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6).

Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
