No Grand Slam
My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. When I am in the US I love going out for a big breakfast. Stacks of pancakes, huge omlettes, and especially a grandmotherly type food server coming by every five minutes with a coffee pot saying "top that off, hon?" It's just not part of the Japanese culture to serve big meals in the morning that stay with you all day. So, I was surprised to learn that there are Denny's Restaurants, almost 600, all over Japan. There is one about a 10 minute walk from Roppongi.
Unfortunately, Denny's USA sold the franchise rights without including the menu and everything that makes Denny's a Denny's. No Grand Slam Breakfast.
No breakfast at all, except for French Toast. I of course ordered the French Toast--and it was very, very good. Topped with both powdered sugar and brown sugar; nice and moist. The rest of the menu contains stuff you would never see at a US Denny's, although there is one sandwich and several beef dishes.
They also sevre several variaties of "hamburg", including Ginger Hamburg.
The menu has limited English, but lots of pictures.
The prices are very modest, so as long as you do not go in with expections of a US Denny's, the overall experience is pretty good. Oh, they offer a bottomless cup of coffee!
