A&FRC is partnership with the Society of Water Rescue and Survival Research of Japan, American Red Cross, and Himberg Pool to offer this course to the base.  This course is held in remembrance of the March 11, 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami. It's taught by professional lifeguards and trainers from The Society of Water Rescue and Survival Research of Japan. These seminars are held to spread water safety preparedness and readiness. The course will be held as a 1 hour classroom session at Mokuteki ballroom and 2 hour pool session.

The Japanese instructors have sincere appreciation towards U.S. Military members who supported Japanese residents with rebuilding the community through "Operation Tomodachi", and  would like to volunteer their time to Misawa AB personnel to show their gratitude.
