USS McCampbell to visit Otaru

YOKOSUKA, Japan— USS McCampbell (DDG 85), forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, as part of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, will make a brief goodwill port visit to Otaru, Hokkaido, Feb. 3, 2017.

McCampbell, commanded by Cmdr. Ed Angelinas, is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer; it is approximately 155.2 meters in length, displacing approximately 9,250 tons, and has a crew size of approximately 330.

While in Otaru, the crew is looking forward to participating in a community service project and a sporting event; meeting the citizens and opportunities for sightseeing, shopping, enjoying the local cuisine and cultural attractions; and learning more about the scenic and historic area of Hokkaido, Japan.
