Mexico City, Mexico (Oct 14-16, 2016) -  A small team of Gosu Dojang members travelled to Mexico City this past weekend to take part in the 8th Mexican Haidong Gumdo Championships.

The team consisted of Mr. John Piggot, Instructor Timothy Hilton, and Instructor Steve Biscoe.  The team members all train under Master Chris Guffey who currently teaches Haidong Gumdo on Yokosuka Naval base.  These individuals medaled in several categories within their divisions and managed to take to the podium in the competition’s final rounds.  Mr. Piggot won silver in paper cutting and gold in sparring for his division, Instructor Hilton also won silver in paper cutting and gold in sparring for his division, while Instructor Biscoe took home silver in sparring for his division.

Despite only 3 competitors attending the tournament, their cumulative medal count managed to earn Gosu Dojang 8th place out of the 26 schools in attendance.
