The 2015 Star Festival will be held July 1 at the entrance to the Camp Zama Community Club from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Star Festival is a Japanese traditional annual event, which derives from a legend that Prince Hikoboshi (Altair) and Princess Orihime (Vega), who are usually separated by the Milky Way, meet once a year on July 7. In Japan people set up bamboo in their yards and decorate them with colorful strips of paper, filled out with their own wishes. It is said that the wishes come true.

The Star Festival is open to all, no registration required and there is no cost to attend. Writing tools will be provided.
