Botulinum toxin such as Botox and dermal filler such as Restylane and Juvederm have been used to correct facial lines (wrinkles) for the last a few decades.  Botox is usually used to treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet.  The most frequently used filler contains hyaluronic acid which also exists in healthy skin and its deeper layers. Hyaluronic acid filler is typically used to correct nasolabial and Marionette lines as well as vertical lines of the upper lip.

For the last a few years, a new concept of “liquid facelift” has emerged in the U.S.  Instead of using botulinum toxin and dermal filler independently for the lesions described earlier, the new technique utilizes often both botulinum toxin and fillers to achieve more youthful face.  In this method, the dermal fillers are often used to augment the upper cheeks.  This will treat not only the under-eye groove (tear trough) but the sagging mid-face.  With further use of the botulinum toxin, facial lines are diminished and cheeks are lifted.  Sometimes laser lifting devices are added to such treatment to further enhance the results of lifting.

At the Plaza Clinic, the medical staff evaluates the conditions of the facial skin, and recommends the most suitable liquid facelift regimen using the minimum amount of the above-mentioned products.
