Military brat Desireé Flores made it to Hollywood Week in this season’s American Idol, finishing in the top 70. Although she didn’t make the top 24, she’s already making a name for herself.

Last month she released her first official music video, "I Want You," featuring Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men! You can check it out at:

A college student pursuing a career as a singer/song writer, model and actress, Flores lives with her family on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. Her father, an Army major, is set to retire this summer.

Here’s her thoughts on American Idol and what future hold for her.

Q. Congrats on making it to Hollywood and ending up in the top 70 of American Idol. Tell us about Hollywood week. Was it pressured packed, or just your average week of singing?

A. Hollywood week was as crazy as it is on TV. The pressure was intense because you meet so many talented people and then like half of everyone each round goes home! On top of that, we all didn't get much sleep because of the rounds and especially during group rounds (I had maybe 11 hours of sleep the 4 days I was there not including the night I was cut). But it was a great experience to really get out of my comfort zone and give them all that I got!

Q. What will you remember most about you time on American Idol?

A. What I will remember most about this experience is the fact that I learned so much about myself. I learned to not let myself get discouraged no matter what. Yes it was disappointing when my time on the show was over, but that only fuels my fire to continue to do music.

Q. Are you disappointed in not making the top 24?

A. Of course it's disappointing to not make it to the top 24. Everyone wants to win and be the next American Idol! But you know, it is a show and that does not determine my career in the music industry.

Q. By the way, great video. How did that come about?

A. Thank you! Well, while recording my EP my manager asked Shawn Stockman if he would be interested in doing a duet with me and he said yes!

Q. What does the future hold for Desiree Flower?

A. The future for Desireé Flores? Well, only God knows that. All I know is that I will continue to grind and work hard for my dreams to come true!
