Oirase Beer
(Near Misawa AB)

Oirase Beer is located near Aomori Prefecture’s famous Oirase Stream, Lake Towada and Mount Hakkoda. It boasts using local mountain river water and traditional Czech brewing techniques to brew four different types of beer.

Tamanomegumi Beer

Ishikawa Shuzo is an old sake brewery established in 1863. This brewery has been brewing craft beers since 1998. The brewery specializes hop flavor.\

“The most important beer is pale ale. We suppress the bitterness of the hops to extract the sweetness and flavor of the malt, which can even appeal to those who don’t like beer.”

Sagami Beer
(Near NAF Atsugi and Camp Zama)

Koganei Shuzo is an old sake brewery originally founded in 1818. The brewery applies 200-year sake brewing experience and expertise in brewing craft beer, using spring water from East Tanzawa Mountains. The region’s soft water and warm climate are boasted as ideal for brewing mild and smooth beers. This brewery produces dry koelsch and rich alt beers.

“At Koganei Shuzo Brewery, we mostly spend our energy on ales, as each has its own particular flavor from the malt and hops that allow consumers to get the most out of a craft beer. We also try our hand at original beers that use local agricultural products. We are also brewing cherry, ‘kabosu’ lime and peach beers.”

Kaigunsan no Beer   
(Near MCAS Iwakuni)

Located near a former Imperial Naval shipyard, Kure Beer brews “Kaigunsan no Beeru,” or Sailor Beer, which includes pilsner, weizen, alt and koelsch beers by employing German-style brewing techniques. It offers different kinds of Sailor Beer as well as Kure Ginjo Beer brewed with a local yeast, said to give the beers a rich and fruity flavor and aroma. The brewery’s restaurant serves its craft beers and local Hiroshima dishes.

“Sailor Beer is brewed with selected German malts, hops and yeast with famous Mount Haigaminespring water of. The water in Hiroshima is soft and suitable for brewing light-color beers.”

Mojiko Retro Beer
(Near Sasebo Naval Base)

Mojiko Retro Beer is located the historical region of Fukuoka Prefecture and has been brewing beer since 1998. Using traditional European brewing techniques, the brewery is producing 700 litters of high-quality homemade craft beer at a time. It uses hefty quantities of wheat and barley malt to brew stronger tasting and sweet beer with a “banana-like” aroma. This brewery has its own restaurant within famed sunsets.
