The American military serving overseas will get to watch the most watched sporting event in the world, soccer’s World Cup, on American Forces Network (AFN) Television starting June 14.

“The most frequently asked question for more than a month was ‘will the World Cup air,’” said AFN Broadcast Center Director Catina Barnes. “Now, after more than two years of negotiations, I’m extremely happy to say yes, the overseas military audience will get to enjoy a once-every-four-years global sporting event on their network, AFN. A big salute goes out to soccer’s governing body, FIFA, Fox Sports and the 31 different broadcast licensees of FIFA who granted us access.”

AFN will air World Cup Matches live and server-delayed on AFN|sports, AFN|sports2, and AFN|prime. Go to for the complete, comprehensive schedule.
