ZAMA CITY, Japan – The United States Army Japan Band from nearby Camp Zama, performed their second annual holiday extravaganza concert at Harmony Hall here Dec. 13.

The audience, numbering more than a thousand and nearly filling the concert hall, came from the Camp Zama and surrounding Japanese communities and the U.S. military installation.
The band performed traditional and modern holiday music together with special guest performers from the Japanese community and Camp Zama.
Opening remarks were given by USARJ’s Command Sgt. Maj. Eric C. Dostie and Nancy Boozer.

Santa Claus also stopped by to deliver his well wishes. As the audience learned when he removed his beard, Santa was actually the mayor of Zama City Mikio Endo. He also joined the band in singing a couple of songs including the traditional White Christmas.
The performance was enjoyed as told by the remarks following the concert and by the Zama City mayor already talking about next year’s show.
