MISAWA, Japan -- Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class Calah Sanchez, attached to Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 25, works with a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force member during the U.S.-Japan bilateral 2JA 2016 Mine Countermeasures Exercise (2JA-16 MCMEX). 2JA-16 MCMEX is an annual bilateral exercise held between the U.S. Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force to strengthen interoperability and increase proficiencies in mine countermeasure operations.
