NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka to conduct Change of Command
NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Yokosuka will conduct a change of command at the Fleet Theater onboard Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Mar. 28.
Capt. Raymond Bichard will relieve Capt. Marty Fields as commanding officer.
Rear Adm. Vincent Griffith, commander, NAVSUP Global Logistics Support, will be the guest speaker at the ceremony.
During Fields’ tenure as commanding officer, NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka supported dozens of exercises and real-world humanitarian operations, completed thousands of logistics missions in support of forward deployed naval forces in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility and earned numerous awards.
Fields’ will be reporting to U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA.
Bichard, a native of Spartanburg, SC, and graduate of the United States Naval Academy, was commissioned in 1990 and most recently served as Director of Maritime Operations at Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Mechanicsburg, PA.
“The men and women, both military and civilian, who comprise the total NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka workforce have been truly fortunate to have had a superior leader in Capt. Fields,” said Dale Rieck, NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka, executive director. “As we wish Capt. Fields well on his new assignment, we look forward to the continued strength in leadership as Capt. Bichard looks to take the helm Mar. 28.”
The NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka mission is to serve the Asia Pacific Region’s forward deployed maritime warfighter with 24/7 operational logistics support integrating an extensive service provider network to deliver fuel, material, mail and supply chain services across the U.S. Navy’s largest geographical area of responsibility.
