Morale, Welfare and Recreation won the 2013 intramural volleyball championship in a match against the Japan Engineer District held June 13 at Camp Zama's Yano Fitness Center. MWR beat JED in two straight sets, 25-13 and 25-15, making them the intramural volleyball champions for three consecutive years. JED advanced to the finals of the double-elimination tournament after beating the Directorate of Public Works' Yellow Monkeys (who finished third place in the tournament) in three sets. MWR was undefeated in the tournament, meaning JED had to win two matches against them, which they were ultimately unable to do.
