John Bushey, (L) Naval Air Facility Atsugi commanding officer, from Spencer, Iowa swings a kine (wooden mallet) to pound rice during the annual Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Commander, Fleet Air Wing Four mochi-tsuki (rice pounding) event. Mochi-tsuki events in Japan are traditionally held to mark special occasions, especially the New Year.
