CAMP ZAMA, Japan -- Lt. Gen. Mike Ferriter, the commanding general of U.S. Army Installation Management Command visited Sagamihara Family Housing Area, the Camp Zama Youth Center and a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force construction site during his tour of U.S. Army Garrison Japan installations Nov. 24.

Maj. Gen. Michael T. Harrison Sr., commander of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward), accompanied Ferriter on the tour of Camp Zama, including the construction of the JGSDF's new Central Readiness Forces headquarters.

"We came to see firsthand the hard work and dedicated leadership of our Installation Management Command members, as well as their connection with Maj. Gen. Harrison and his team." said Ferriter.

At SFHA, the tour included newly-constructed family housing units and the ongoing renovation at much older facilities to maintain Army housing standards.

"The beautiful new house is very, very impressive … we also saw great work of Public Works to renovate houses that have been here since 1951 … and that's exactly what our families deserve," said Ferriter.
